But with faith in God, David showed that no challenge is too big when God is on your side! In 1 Samuel 17, the Israelites were facing the Philistine army. Every day, a giant named Goliath mocked them, daring someone to fight him. Everyone was terrified except David, a young shepherd boy. David believed that God would help him defeat the giant. Armed with just a sling, five smooth stones, and faith, David faced Goliath. He declared, “The battle is the Lord’s!” (1 Samuel 17:47). With one shot from his sling, the stone struck Goliath on the forehead, and the giant fell! David proved that with God’s power, we can overcome even the greatest challenges.
