The Good Samaritan – Learning to Show Kindness
As a new school term begins, there’s no better time to remind our children about the power of kindness . The story of The Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37) is one of the most beloved Bible stories for children because it teaches an important lesson: God wants us to love and help others, no matter who they are. In Jesus’ parable, a man was traveling when he was attacked by robbers and left hurt on the road. Two people - a priest and a Levite - saw him but walked away. Then came a Samaritan, someone the injured man might not have expected help from. Yet the Samaritan stopped, cared for his wounds, and made sure he was safe. Jesus told this story to show that Christian values for children include showing compassion, even to those who may be different from us.
